The P was meant to replace the i chipset and we can safely say today that it has done so successfully.

Yellow simply would not work with those timings. I am still trying to get those timings with an overclock 10x, be aware it is more difficult to get lower or stock timings with 2 gig modules on this board. Pros: Very stable although I don't overclock. Lots of ports, including solid eSATA. CMOS reset on this mobo requires removal of video card, an inconvenience. I would've given 5 stars otherwise. RAID was a snap also.

Cons: None for me. I rolled the dice seeing all the negatives here, but haven't had a single problem yet, though haven't owned all that long either. Here's a possible tip for some: Don't rub your feet on carpet or lick outlets before handling.

Maybe I just got lucky shrug. Pros: I bought this board the first day New Egg had it for sale. And I have put it through the wringer overclocking it. I have used a E oc to 3. I will oc when the heat sink sets in. I have used two different graphics cards with no problem. Currently using MSI geforce gt. The crash free bios is fantastic. Put a setting in it doesnt like and it post back at default settings for you to change it.

I still remember the days of having to open the case and moving jumpers to clear the cmos. I have been building and oc pcs for over 10 years mostly just for the fun of doing it. I have built pcs on the side also for friends too. I must say this is one of the better boards I have come across. There is a catch when using high end memory. The SPD on the ram doesnt contain the voltage. The bios will automaticly set the ram voltage to 1.

The problem is that this memory has to run at 2. And if you are using 4gigs instead of 2gigs, you have to kick it up above that. High end memory uses a lot of power. Also just remember if you update the bios everything goes back to default settings and you will have to go into setup and change the ram voltage or you will have problems. Overall Review: It seems alot of people have had problems with this board. I think a lot of the problems come from a combination of lack of knowledge on their part and a lack of decent support from Asus.

I am willing to bet that a lot of good boards are rma with absolutly nothing wrong with them. I have put together 7 of these so far without a hitch. I can look at some of these reviews and I can tell exactly from the review what the installers are doing wrong.
