Make a memorial gift in honor of Dr. Chancellor Danforth, who had a special rapport with students, poses with some at the Homecoming. The Danforth Scholars Program honors students with a passion for helping others.
We are looking for students who have demonstrated leadership in service and a strong commitment to community. Danforth Scholars are also known for their academic excellence, personal integrity, and high ideals. The scholarship is renewed each year for the duration of the degree program, provided you progress academically and uphold the high standards of character required of scholars.

This ensures students from under-resourced schools and communities will be able to apply for and be considered for this program. Do I have to come to Scholarship Finalist Weekend? Yes, all finalists must attend Scholarship Finalist Weekend to be considered. How do Early Decision applications affect scholarship awards and consideration?
Students who apply Early Decision may apply for any scholarship matching their interests. Academic scholarships, however, are not awarded until after the Early Decision commitment date.
If I am eligible for financial aid based on need and also receive a scholarship, will the scholarship affect my aid package? It depends. Our goal is to make a Washington University education affordable.
