About the Gap Program The Gap Program provides services to grandparents and other relatives who care for children in the absence of parents. Ways we can help The Gap Program offers the following services to support your family through our MCH Family Outreach offices: Case Management We assess the strengths and needs of your situation and a case manager meets with your family regularly to provide you with services geared toward strengthening your family.

There is an extensive documentation advising how to write a GAP code. To keep up to date on GAP news discussion of problems, release announcements, bug fixes , we suggest you to subscribe to the email-based GAP Forum. You may also follow GAP on Twitter. Please tell us about your use of GAP in research or teaching.

We may well want to provide a link to your work. If your work is published then we ask you to cite GAP like a journal article or book. We maintain a Bibliography of publications citing GAP. Please help us keeping it up to date. GAP has been and is developed by international cooperation of many people , including user contributions. GAP supports, encourages, and assists young adults in self-advocacy interactions that allow them to express their needs and wants to other individuals.

GAP staff work closely with young adults to learn how to identify and express their needs to their peers, families, staff, teachers and their community. Young adults have the opportunity to engage in variety of social interpersonal interactions with peers, staff, and members of the community. With GAP, young adults build camaraderie, acceptance and develop a sense of belonging. GAP offers unique experiences for building social skills and societal awareness including summer and winter outings, barbecues in the park, holiday parties and day trips around Los Angeles.
