It not only serves as a way to relive stress but also gives me the freedom to express myself through various ingredients. Additionally, being out in nature has always brought me tremendous joy, whether it be hiking, camping, rafting, or snowboarding.

I have trekked Everest base camp twice, and its breathtaking scenery and enormous size still humble me. I was a track leader for my core clinical site and served as liaison between fellow medical students and the administration I organized numerous events focused on student mental health and residency preparedness during this role.

I have had numerous publications through my medical career, mostly focused on infectious disease. The residency program and its leadership were very impressive. I knew that coming here would give me the best chance to be the best physician possible. As a physician I aim to provide care to people for who they are, and to exchange understanding with knowledge to improve the health of those who seek out or are in need of treatment.

In my personal time I enjoy the company of my family and friends, engaging with nature, live entertainment, gardening and the comfort of a good chair. The best piece of advice I was given when I interviewed different programs was to really look at the personality of the residents and faculty because wherever I matched, those people would become my family. I had the opportunity to play collegiate tennis at the highest level where I reached two NCAA team finals and two quarterfinals, was team captain, became an ITA All-American in singles highest national rank 6 after winning the West regional tournament, and won an Ojai doubles title as a senior.

After graduating, I went to Grenada for medical school and loved every part of being immersed in Caribbean culture. I fell in love with this place the moment I stepped in for my interview! We later moved to Texas where I grew up. I knew I wanted to go into medicine; however, my journey led me to other avenues prior to attending medical school. One of those journeys included going into massage therapy. For seven years I was a licensed massage therapist and worked with people with special needs, including people with spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy and autism.

I was also privileged to work with professional athletes. In my free time I enjoy hiking, weight lifting, drawing, cooking and learning about other cultures. After completing several clinical rotations in Southern California, it was clear I wanted to return to California and practice medicine. Eisenhower was the obvious choice. From our study, a poster was made and presented at a convention. What really impressed me most about Eisenhower Medical Center was the people that work here. The feedback that I would hear from people that work here was overwhelmingly positive. Residency is hard in itself so I really wanted a program that really took care of their residents, like Eisenhower does. That, combined with wanting great teaching is why I chose Eisenhower.

During my interview, I felt that the program is genuine about its focus on resident wellness and education, and so far it has exceeded my expectations.

After college, I worked as a full time middle school science teacher in San Jose where I further developed my passion for addressing social determinants of health through education and advocacy. In my free time, I love to travel and experience new cultures and communities. You can often find me outdoors hiking, taking nature photos and exploring new restaurant.

I was fortunate enough to complete a Geriatrics rotation at Eisenhower and immediately felt at home in the program! Not only were the residents, faculty and staff truly invested in my long term learning and growth as a physician, but also the general program atmosphere felt like a family.

I am very much interested in integrative medicine and whole-person healing. I am also an amateur poet and artist. I had a great impression of Eisenhower during its interview, and prior experience at AAFP conference.
